YKIPについて
Yayasan Kemanusiaan Ibu Pertiwi (YKIP) はインドネシアのバリ島にある、とても優れた社会福祉機関です。
もともとは悲劇的なバリ爆発事件の被害者を支援するために設立されましたが、バリの社会をより良くするために活動の幅を広げてきました。YKIPはチャリティープログラムをいくつか管理しており、高い基準を満たす他のチャリティーも支援しています。
生産性や透明性を高く保ち、基金を正しく管理してくれるYKIPをカーリーミュージックは選びました。
カーリーミュージックとYKIPは、バリのデンパサールにおいて「Sushrusa Playgroup」と呼ばれる聴覚障害プログラムへ資金を提供することに合意しています。(http://www.ykip.org/hear_impaired.asp)
Sushrusa Playgroupについて
「Sushrusa Playgroup」は2007年7月の始めにLUMINAで初めてスタートしました。
資金をALFから調達し、３才から６才の子供たちのための週３回、個人的なスピーチセラピーのようなクラスを作ります。SidhakaryaにあるSLBBのコンサルタントが、Playgroupのトータルコミュニケーションアプローチとして、スタッフの指導にあたりました。
もし子供たちの聴力がひどく損傷していたとしても、個々の聴力のレベルに応じた対応ができるというのは素晴らしいことです。音が存在し、それぞれに意味があることを理解できるようになります。それによって自分の声というものを知り、使えるようになっていきます。単に家族の名前や、普段使っている道具の名前を呼んだりするだけでも、通常の世界との関わりを強めることができるのです。

プロジェクトは本当にシンプルです。まず子供たちに聞いてもらいます。私たちが関わる多くの子供たちは、これまできちんと聞くことができませんでした。子音や微妙なピッチは難しくとも、母音くらいはわかるような子もいます。
補聴器を付けると効果は驚くほどです。ある小さな男の子がLUMINAのオフィスにあるきしむドアで20分も遊んでいました。愉快な音を聞いて大喜びして笑いながら。
また他の少年アグスは、お父さんを背にドアに向かって歩いていました。お父さんが「アグス」と呼びかけるとアグスは振り返ります。泣きながらお父さんは彼に近づき抱きしめました。

About YKIP
Yayasan Kemanusiaan Ibu Pertiwi (YKIP) is an outstanding social agency located in Bali, Indonesia. Originally established to assist those affected by the tragic bombing events in Bali, YKIP has expanded its activities to improve the lives of those in need in the general Bali community. YKIP manages several of its own charity programs and also funds other charities that meets its high standards.Curly Music has selected YKIP to oversee the disbursements of our donations to insure they will be used in a productive and transparent manner.

The Sushrusa Playgroup
Beginning in July 2007, the Sushrusa Playgroup opened its doors at LUMINA. Funded by ALF, this pre-school for 3-6 year olds provides classes three times a week as well as private speech therapy classes. Consultants from the SLBB in Sidhakarya, have trained a teaching staff in the Total Communications Approach for the playgroup.
Giving children the use of whatever level of hearing they may have – even if their hearing is severely damaged, is a wonderful gift. It enables them to understand that sound exists, and that it has meaning. It allows them to realize the function of their own voices and let them use it. Even if just to learn the names of their families or to call for items of basic need, it can greatly enhance their ability to interact with the normal hearing world.
As stated on the YKIP website:
This project is quite simple: let’s get children hearing. None of the children we worked with could hear properly; some could make out vowel sounds but not consonants or subtleties in pitch. After being fitted for their hearing aids, the change was astounding. One little boy played with the squeaky door at the LUMINA office for twenty minutes, laughing with delight at hearing this delectable sound! Another boy, Agus was walking towards the door with his back to his father. His father called out “Agus’. Agus turned his head and his father, near tears ran to him and hugged him. Your small donation can make a big difference in these children’s lives.
